About Us

Ochre Recruitment Pty Limited is one of Australasia’s most established and effective medical recruitment agencies. Through our Australian and New Zealand offices, Ochre Recruitment provides services to a range of general practice, hospital, Aboriginal Medical Services, Correctional Services and Area Health Services.

In 2002, Doctors Hamish Meldrum and Ross Lamplugh were working as GP/VMO Proceduralists in one of Australia’s quintessential outback towns, Bourke in New South Wales.

Since Australia’s birth, life in the outback has been a hard but rewarding one, and it was no different for these two committed doctors. It became apparent to both men that there was a need for locum doctor coverage here in the heart of Australia’s outback.

Ochre Recruitment was born.

After the initial success in recruiting rural and outback locums, the Ochre Health Group expanded to include rural and remote health care services and management.

Ochre Recruitment now places doctors into the twelve rural Australian towns with medical services managed by Ochre Health. Alongside this, we also place locum doctors throughout Australia and New Zealand.

With a foundation of placing locum doctors, particularly into rural and remote areas, Ochre Recruitment is an organisation that is not only proficient at recruiting into the health industry, but one that has an intimate understanding of both locum and permanent recruitment. With the support of our parent company, Ochre Health, we have a unique position, understanding the needs of both doctors entering locum placements and of medical practices seeking a permanent or locum doctor.

In addition to recruitment services, the Ochre Health Group also:

  • Operates primary care services and medical centres in regional, rural and remote locations
  • Is contracted to provide doctors for a number of Aboriginal Medical Services
  • Provides Allied Health Services toa range of regional locations
  • Provides a consultancy service to the health industry in the areas of Primary Health Care and Indigenous Health
