Australian Graduates
If you are an Australian Graduate the choices to work in Australia are extremely straight forward and abundant with great opportunities with minimal paperwork required.
For Vocationally recognised (VR) GP’s you are able to practice anywhere in Australia with no restrictions and this also goes for Fellows of the RACGP or FRACRRM. We are always seeking doctors with good emergency skills as well to conduct placements in the rural communities.
Non Vocationally recognised Australian Graduates are also eligible to work as a GP on the Rural Locum Relief Program (RLRP) or 3GA depending on location and can also attract the A1 Medicare billing rate if they work in a remote area where a ROMPS can be submitted.
New Zealand Trained Doctors
The great news is that Australia has now recently recognised that a New Zealand Graduate can work in Australia with minimum to no restrictions which opens up the locations and opportunities for those GP doctors looking for a change of scenery. If you are also a New Zealand citizen Immigration requirements are also not an issue.
Many of the other requirements for International Medical Graduates are applicable to New Zealand doctors and you may like to look at our Frequently Asked Questions for further information.

Ochre Recruitment is particularly interested in Category 1, 2 and 3 countries and have listed these below, please click on the country and it will discuss the new requirements for working in Australia as a General Practitioner.
